Indigestion occurs when you have too much acid in your stomach Most use Antacids to correct the problem.
How do antacids help?
Antacids are made of alkali substances and when acid reacts with an alkali , neutralization occurs. Which basically means your stomach is neutralized to the point where the amount of acid is normal.
Acids can be neutralized by metal oxides , hydroxides or metal carbonates.
